Hello members,
After a two hour rain delay, Lucas Glover takes home the championship! This is his 5th Tour win, and he takes home the $1.368m payday. And, Glover now makes the FedEx Cup Playoffs where he can keep his hot putting stroke going.
Russell Henley was in contention until the last three holes. He bogeyed those three to end up in T2 with Byeong Hun An.
Justin Thomas showed some grit this week. He needed to birdie 18 to make the Top 70 in the FedEx Cup Playoffs points. In dramatic fashion, he had to hit a 60 yard hook from the pine straw to get close to the green. He ends up short and has to make a pitch to get in the Playoffs. He hit the pitch damn near perfectly, it hit the pin, but had too much pace and didn’t drop. JT ends up 71st and doesn’t make the playoffs for the first time in his Tour career.
Other big news today was Bryson DeChambeau. Bryson shot a 58 WITH A BOGEY during the LIV Greenbriar event. Honestly, extremely impressive, even when playing preferred lies. If only he would’ve shot 54 to get the 54 million dollar bonus… Is this the moment LIV Golf needed to boost ratings and gain more momentum? We shall see.
