Thursday Night Recap - Wyndham Championship

Hello members,

Russell Henley comes out firing with a 8-under 62 to take a one shot lead. He battled the rain and slight wind to go bogey-free in his opening round. Two players are tied for second - Byeong Hun An and Adam Svensson.

Players on the FedEx Cup Playoff bubble were mixed today. Adam Scott played well and is T5 at 5-under. Shane Lowry is 2-under and T35, not low enough. Justin Thomas show Even and is T68 and is well behind what he needs to advance next week. Maybe tomorrow will be better for Lowry and Thomas.

Exclusive look into the 2024 PGA Tour schedule. A few things to know:

  • Elevated / Designated Events are now known as Signature Events

  • A few of these Signature Events will no longer have a cut…

  • And even less Signature Events will have a cut, only 4 of them

  • Some new event will be Signature including the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am

  • Finally, some sponsors have changed but nothing too serious.

Rain today and more rain overnight and some rain tomorrow. High of 80 and low of 65.

Updated Betting Odds

My pre-tournament picks:

  • Sungjae Im - +5500 - 1-under 69 and currently T59. Not great.

  • Sam Burns - +5500 - same as Sungjae… meh.

  • Brendon Todd - +3500 - 3-under and T16. Decent round and not too far back.
