Friday Night Recap - WGC Dell Match Play
We're down to our final sixteen. Twelve of the sixteen went 3-0-0, which is the most ever. Some surprises, while others were expected. Rahm did not make it out of his pool with a record of 1-2 and losing to Billy Horschel 5&4 today. Unfortunately, that also means Rickie didn't make it out of this pool since Billy did. Augusta is not likely for Rickie now. Will Zalatoris conceded his match before it even began due to an illness. Not a great week for Will going 0-3. Hideki Matsuyama also withdrew before his match with Max Homa. Max and his wife finally get a date night after the chill day for him.
There were two playoffs to determine Groups 10 and 12. Kurt Kitayama beat Tony Finau and Adrian Meronk in a sudden death playoff to advance for Group 10. Mackenzie Hughes beat Taylor Moore in the playoff to represent Group 12.
Matt Kuchar and Tiger Woods share a record for the most matches won at the WGC Dell Match Play after Matt beat Si Woo Kim 7&6. Pretty cool for Kuch.
Potential for 36 holes tomorrow and Sunday for the top four. A lot of golf to play!

Weather
Rain and wind were a factor this morning. Will not be the case tomorrow. Beautiful, sunny day with temperatures ranging between 51-83.
Updated Betting Odds
My pre-tournament picks:
Scottie Scheffler - currently +400 - no one playing better that Scottie right now. Pick is looking good!
Max Homa - +1000 - had today off so that could be a good or bad thing. Time will tell.
Tommy Fleetwood - n/a - no weekend golf for Tommy this week.

Yesterday, Rory hit his tee shot on 18 from 375 yards to 3'9" from the hole.
To put in perspective how good that is...
...the average proximity on tour from 9 yards in the fairway is 3'10".

Mackenzie Hughes just hit it 167 (!) yards past Taylor Montgomery off the tee on the first playoff hole which feels like it actually might be enough room for a modestly sized Wal-Mart
