Tournament Recap - Valspar Championship
Schenk and Spieth had a chance but it's Taylor Moore with his first PGA Tour win!
Tournament Recap - Valspar Championship
Some drama in The Snake Pit on Sunday! Jordan Spieth was tied for the lead with Adam Schenk and Taylor Moore when he hit his drive into the water on 16 and bogeyed. Taylor Moore parred 18 around the same time to be in the clubhouse at 10-under. Jordan bounced back by hitting hit tee shot on 17 to 6 feet while Schenk ended up in the bunker and made a 15 foot Par putt. Schenk remained at 10-under and one above Jordan, since Jordan missed his birdie putt. Schenk hit his tee shot on 18 left into the crowd and ended up against a tree... OH NO. He smoked a flipped over wedge swinging left-handed through the fairway into the rough. He has to get up and down to get into a playoff with Moore. Jordan is in the rough on the left side and hit his approach about 4 feet too short and ended up down a ridge and has to make the 48 foot putt to get to 10-under. Schenk also didn't get it up above the ridge to the back left pin location and has to have a miracle putt. Jordan gave it a good run but missed, so he ended one back. Schenk SMOKED HIS PUTT, hit the pin, and bounced out! Heartbreak. He was not going to leave it short.
Taylor Moore, +5000 pre-tournament, gets it done for his first Tour win after his 4-under 67 today and won $1.458m. Schenk ends up in solo second to take home $882k and Spieth and Fleetwood end up T3. Two PGA events next week - Corales Puntacana Championship and the WGC - Dell Technologies Match Play. All the big names will be at the WGC so I'll mainly cover that. Cheers, everyone.
It was always Taylor Moore!!!
He shoots a final round 67 to overtake Spieth & Schenk and earn his first career PGA Tour W.

Final Leaderboard and Payouts
Picks Recaps
Jordan Spieth - +1200 - T3 but honestly it was his tournament to lose and he didn't hit the shots he needed to to get it done.
Justin Rose - +2200 - T36, better luck next week.
Sam Burns - +1800 - shot 67 today to end up in solo 6th. He just started too many shots back today to be a contender.
Season Long Picks Update
After 11 tournaments in 2023, a $100 better for each of the weekly picks would be up $2,100.
