Friday Night Recap - Valspar Championship

Adam Schenk has the solo lead going into the weekend for the first time in his PGA Tour career.  He shot 69 today to finish at 7-under.  He leads by one shot over Kramer Hicock. Pretty wild stat that three of the 2012 University of Texas Austin golf teammates are in the Top 5.  Eleven players are within 3 of the lead, so it truly is anyone's tournament right now, including Jordan Spieth, Tommy Fleetwood, and Davis Riley.

Holes 16-18 are known as The Snake Pit.  Easily the toughest hole stretch on the course and demands accurate shots due to how tight the holes are.  The whole tournament could come down to these three holes on Sunday.  This tournament also is a talking point for the "non-bifurcation" crowd since the course is tough and scores aren't normally super low.  

Weather

Storms are a-brewin'.  Tomorrow mid-day, storms should come through and cause some delays.  Along with this storm is a cold front, so Sunday will be only a high of 62.

My pre-tournament picks:

• Jordan Spieth - currently +500 - still looking strong in T3 only 2 back. Also, odds on favorite to win, so hopefully Vegas is right!

• Justin Rose - +6600 - another even par round today and is 7 back from the leader.

• Sam Burns - +5000 - also even par after a 2-over 73 today. Going to need some magic this weekend to three-peat.
