Scottie runs away with it to win $4.5m! Great week at TPC Sawgrass.
Tournament Recap - THE PLAYERS Championship
Scottie Scheffler ran away with it and moved back to the World No. 1. A few players played well to somewhat contend, but none could come close enough, even after a very safe 18th tee shot waaaayyy right. His pre-tournament odds were +1100 and wins the $4.5m winner's paycheck. His last ~years has been VERY fruitful for the pocketbook. Tyrrell Hatton ended with FIVE straight birdies to shoot 29 on his back nine. On 18, he was in the pinestraw and hit an incredible shot to 12 feet and then made the putt. He ended up in solo second place to take home $2.725m. Not bad at all.
Another hole-in-one on 17 today; this time by Alex Smalley. He one-hopped it straight into the hole. Dude had a wild back nine. Also, there were three holes-in-one on 17 this week. Is it me or was that hole the easiest it's been in history? Max Homa had a solid day and was heading towards the top of the leaderboard for awhile. Shots like this were unlucky but he still ended up in the top 10. Taylor Montgomery had a terrible three hole stretch to fall back and lose a lot of money. He chipped in from the walkway on 17 for a 7... sheesh.
Great week at TPC Sawgrass. Cream rose to the top with some lesser known contenders. Would love to see a week where Rory, Rahm, Scottie, JT, Spieth, Homa, and more are at the top of their game. Fingers crossed that time is Masters week, which is only 25 days away.Onto next week's Valspar Championship in Palm Harbor, FL. Cheers, everyone!

Final Leaderboard and Payouts
Picks Recap
Jon Rahm - +900 - withdrew
Justin Thomas - +2000 - ended up in a T60
Viktor Hovland - +2800 - T3 final standing... he had a chance coming down the stretch but Viktor didn't make the putts he needed and Scottie didn't miss anything
Season Long Picks Update
After 10 tournaments in 2023, a $100 better for each of the weekly picks would be up $2,400. Had a stretch of three straight winners - Justin Rose at Pebble, Scottie in Phoenix, and Rahm at the Genesis. Let's see if I can get back on track next week.

Conspiracy Iβd like to breathe life into, please assist if capable: This bunker was not in the original design but someone spilled a splash of coffee on the original plans and everyone was too nervous to ask the Dyes if it was intentional so everyone just went with it.

Furyk came oh-so-close here four years ago, but Scheffler is proving that guys in their late 40's can still win out on this tour.
