Saturday Night Recap - The Memorial Tournament

Rory McIlroy is tied at the top at 6-under with Si Woo Kim and David Lipsky. So many players within 5 strokes and anything is possible tomorrow.

Saturday Night Recap - The Memorial Tournament

Hello members,

Scores were a bit mixed today. The leaders retreated a decent bit and the new leaderboard is stacked. Round 3 leader, Justin Suh, shot 5-over 77 and solo second after Round 3, Hideki Matsuyama, shot 3-over 75.

Keegan Bradley surged forward with a 7-under 65, which was the best score today by two strokes and is currently T9. Sungjae Im shot a 5-under 67 to move into the top 15.

Scottie Scheffler finally got it together today with a 4-under 68. He’s five strokes off the lead and absolutely in contention with how scores have been this week. He is first in the field in tee-to-green and last in putting. Wild.

Rory McIlroy has quietly had a good week. He’s now the Vegas favorite at +275. Good to see him back in contention after a few tournaments where he struggled. He’s currently in T1 at 6-under. Si Woo Kim and David Lipsky are tied at the top with Rory.

Anything can happen tomorrow. My prediction is someone in the morning wave shoots 65 to move in the lead until the leaders tee off. Then, 10-under gets it done. Who that is, is anyone’s guess.

Weather

Weather was perfect today and going to be even better tomorrow. Highs in the upper 80s, lows in the low 50s, and full of sun. Beautiful week in Ohio.

Updated Betting Odds

My pre-tournament picks:

  • Scottie Scheffler - +10000 - finally shot under par today with a 4-under 68. 1-under for the tournament, but if he could putt, he’d be much higher.

  • Patrick Cantlay - +1200 - had a triple bogey today, sheesh. Currently, 4-under for the tournament and two strokes back.

  • Viktor Hovland - +800 - another solid day to shoot 3-under 69. Currently, 5-under and has a really good chance to come from behind. Only one stroke off the lead.
