Hello members,
Well, what started out as a day filled with frustration since the final round tee times were moved up and apparently the only way to watch today was ESPN+, Peacock, and the CBS Sports App, the ending was that much more exciting. I still can’t believe it was this difficult to watch the final round of a PGA Tour event with one of the most popular golfers in the world, Rickie Fowler, in contention the whole day. Anyways, I digress…
Rickie started the day in the lead and was 3-under for the front 9. He stalled a bit on the back with eight straight pars on the back 9 until hitting his approach on 18 to gimme distance to make the putt. He ended his round at 24-under to make a three-way playoff with Collin Morikawa (who shot 64 today) and Adam Hadwin (who shot 67).
In the playoff, the threesome played hole 18 first. The 18th is a 474 Par 4. Rickie blows it way right but hits his approach to 12 feet. Hadwin hit the fairway and hit the green but had too much backspin on the approach to be around 20 feet. Collin also hit the fairway but flew the green and is in the deep rough. Advantage - Rickie!
Hadwin burned the edge on his birdie putt and settled for par. Collin flubbed his chip a bit and has to make a putt to save par. Rickie steps up AND DRAINS THE PUTT TO WIN!
Rickie Fowler takes home his sixth career PGA Tour win after waiting 1,610 days! He moves up to 8th in the FedEx Cup standings. He, also, takes home the $1.584m payday! OH, and Rickie was a One Putts pick this week at +1400. Hopefully y’all locked it in. Seventh winner of the year for the newsletter…

In laws are staying with us for the weekend.
My father in law has a 9:00 tee time this morning.
He just left the house.
