Tournament Preview - RBC Heritage
Another designated event with $3.6m on the line for the winner. Can Jordan Spieth defend his title? Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, and Scottie Scheffler will have something to say about that.
Tournament Preview - RBC Heritage
Hello members,
We move from Augusta to Hilton Head Island for the designated event RBC Heritage. Majority of the big names are playing, and most are contractually obligated, but the big name missing is Rory McIlroy. He withdrew on Monday bringing the field to 143 players. The purse is now $20m for this event with the winner's share being $3.6m. Kinda wild that the winner's check for this event is larger than The Masters last week. Pretty good excuse to play the week after the Masters though.
Jordan Spieth is the defending champion and looking to defend his plaid jacket. He also had some comments about how he's played too much golf this year and was worn down mentally during the Masters. Normally, I would pick the defending champ but that comment doesn't sit well with me for his chances.
Two cool notes about this tournament:1. The winner receives a plaid jacket. 2. The previous year's winner officially kicks off the tournament by driving into the ocean and a big ole cannon is shot.
Weather
Rain is on the horizon for tomorrow. According to the forecast, it should hit mid-day into the afternoon. Depending on how hard it rains and if there is any lightning, I could see where Round 1 does not finish tomorrow. We shall see.

Betting Odds
Betting Odds provided by Bovada.lv at this link (not sponsored)Some notable players to consider:
Cameron Young - +1800 - really like his game right now. He's gotta get his first Tour win soon.
Matt Kuchar - +5000 - historically, he has played well here and a previous winner so knows what it takes to get that plaid jacket.
Sahith Theegala - +5000 - bringing some momentum from his final round at The Masters and playing some really good golf lately.
Course Information
Harbour Town Golf Links is one of the most known spots on Tour. Small greens and shotmaking are required to score well here.
Pete Dye designed the course, with help from Jack Nicklaus, and it opened in 1967.
Lucky for us, Harbour Town is a public course we all can play! It's owned by The Sea Pines Resort. Stay and play packages cost between $195 and $400.
The course is known for its red lighthouse, as seen below.
It’s RBG Hertage week at Harbour Town Golf Links on Hilton Head Island. The players absolutely love this shotmakers paradise built by Pete Dye (with help from Jack Nicklaus) in 1967. I have a new appreciation for this lovely lowcountry layout after visiting again last year.

Jon Rahm on why he didn’t WD from RBC Heritage:
“I made a commitment earlier in the year and I want to honor that commitment…I put myself in the shoes of not only the spectators, but the kids. If I was one of the kids, I would want to see the recent Masters Champion play.”
