Tournament Roundup - PGA Championship
Hello members,
What an incredible Sunday at the PGA Championship. This week really delivered with excitement, storylines, good and bad golf, and funny content.
The non-winner storyline of the week was Michael Block. To recap, he’s a PGA teaching pro in southern California, cried every time he was interviewed, provided great insight during his Walk and Talks, and has just been extremely humble during his epic week. His rounds went 70-70-70-71 to end up T15. He was paired with Justin Rose in Round 3 and Rory McIlroy in Round 4, which he responded with “really? oh my goodness”. Oh, and today on the Par 3 151 yard 15th, he DUNKED IT FOR AN ACE! Just when you thought his story couldn’t get any better, it definitely does. AND, he’ll be back next year due to his T15 finish!
After a rain soaked Round 3, today’s final round had perfect weather for scoring. This was evident in the scores today with 28 players being under par compared to 9 yesterday. The lowest rounds were 5-under 65s by Scottie Scheffler, Cam Davis, Kurt Kitiyama, Cam Smith, and Sepp Straka.
Viktor Hovland and Brooks Koepka battled all day pretty much going shot for shot. Brooks started out with 3 birdies in this first 4 holes and it looked like he was going to be unstoppable. Then, he came back to Earth when he had a couple bogeys in the middle of his first 9. Scottie Scheffler tried to make up some ground but just ran out of holes to catch Brooks.
In the end, Viktor just ran out of gas and took a double bogey on 16 to drop back. Brooks birdied 16 to take a four shot lead going into 17 and 18. Although Brooks made it interesting on 17 with a big slice off the tee to lead to a bogey. Viktor did birdie 18 to end up T2 with Scottie.
Brooks Koepka wins the PGA Championship! It’s his 5th major and 3rd PGA Championship. He takes home the $3.15m winner’s check along with the Wanamaker Trophy. Needless to say, Brooks is back after his Masters showing and now this win. Dude just shows up for majors.
Next week, the PGA Tour goes back to Texas for the Charles Schwab Challenge. Cheers everyone.

Final Leaderboard and Payouts
Picks Recaps
Jon Rahm - +800 - not the best week and ended up T50 at 7-over.
Scottie Scheffler - +800 - solo 2nd at 7-under. Good week but just couldn’t get the win.
Tyrrell Hatton - +3500 - ended up 1-over for the tournament after a 67 today. He ended at T15.
Season Long Picks Update
After 19 tournaments picked in 2023, a $100 better for each of the weekly picks would be up $3,000. Hoping to get back in the winner’s circle next week.

Fans have been unreal this week. It's great when a massive tournament comes to a smaller city because the entire town is on fire, so pumped for the whole week. Tulsa was the same way. Rochester showed up big time.

PGA Fun Fact: Oak Hill usually operates without tee times. Once three members of a foursome are on property, their group is placed in a queue. Groups are then alternated between the East and West courses. So members don’t know which golf course they are playing until they arrive
