Saturday Night Recap - The Masters

Another rainout today. Brooks Koepka extends his lead to four over Jon Rahm. A lot of golf to play tomorrow to avoid a Monday finish.

Saturday Night Recap - The Masters

Hello friends,

Rain was the major story today. Round 2 finished up in the morning with it pouring. The cut ended up at +3 and Tiger Woods snuck in on the number. Round 3 started around mid day, groups went off 1 and 10 in threesomes, and still couldn't get all of the round completed. Majority of players are halfway through Round 3, and the expectation is finishing that round in the morning tomorrow with the final round starting around noon eastern.

It seemed everyone was bogeying left and right this afternoon, including some shots that ended up on places of Augusta National that I had never seen before. The wind, rain, and upper 40s temperature impacted everyone. Except Brooks Koepka. Brooks is increased his lead to four over Jon Rahm. Sam Bennett, the amateur, is six shots back and this has turned into a two horse race.

Tiger has struggled and his leg is wearing down. It's pretty sad to see. He did still show some signs of his greatness though. Phil Mickelson has been a bright spot after some terrible play the last few years. Phil is currently 4-under and T8. Fred Couples made the cut and now has the crown of the oldest player to do so.

Still a lot of golf left with at least 30 holes to be played tomorrow by the leaders. Anything could happen!

Weather

The rain should be clearing out overnight and tomorrow should be pleasant, albeit pretty wet. Temperatures ranging from 41 to 63 and rain should hold off.

Updated Betting Odds

My pre-tournament picks:

  • Scottie Scheffler - +8000 - not looking likely to wear the green jacket again.

  • Jon Rahm - +165 - 4 shots back from Brooks. Needs Brooks to stumble a little and birdies from himself to get it done.

  • Cameron Young - +5000 - 9 shots back so will require a miracle.
