Friday Night Recap - The Masters
Brooks Koepka extends the lead and is currently 12-under with Jon Rahm chasing. Round 2 delayed due to storms and falling trees. Hopefully, the weather can hold off tomorrow to get back on track.
Friday Night Recap - The Masters
Hello friends,
Well, the weather finally hit Augusta, but at least majority of golfers could finish their 2nd round. 39 golfers remain to finish up their second round tomorrow morning, hopefully. At first, there was a 21 minute rain delay, which was the shortest in tournament history. Then, a longer delay later in the afternoon, with multiple freaking trees falling down. WTF. The Masters officially confirmed there were no injuries and play was suspended until tomorrow. The projected cut line is currently 2-over. We'll see where it actually ends up.
Before the storms delayed things, Brooks Koepka was on fire. He shot a 5-under 67 today to move to 12-under. Brooks told the media if he had been playing like this last year, the LIV decision would've been harder and potentially would've stayed on the PGA Tour. Interesting. Pretty solid comeback for him too after last year's disappointing two days, where he tried to punch out a car window LOL. We've all been there. The other significant story is Sam Bennett. He's an amateur, currently 8-under, only has ONE bogey in 36 holes, before the first weather delay was in solo 2nd, and has a pretty inspiring story.
Rory McIlroy struggled and ended his 36 holes at 5-over after a 77 today. Unfortunately, we won't see him playing the weekend. Scottie Scheffler also shot over par today with a 75, which is his worst round at Augusta, and ended at 1-under.
Shout out to the old guys - Sandy Lyle finishes up his last competitive round at the Masters with a standing ovation on 18. Phil Mickelson is 4-under for the tournament and currently in a T10 place. Fred Couples plays a yellow ball (#oldguythings) and is going to make the cut, as well. Tiger Woods is currently on the projected cut line at 2-over with 7 holes to play.
14 pars. Three birdies. One eagle. #themasters

Weather
More rain tonight but should be less electricity in the sky. Tomorrow's weather is significantly cooler, with temperatures ranging from 43-50. Good news is Sunday looks better now, so that's a positive.
Updated Betting Odds
My pre-tournament picks:
Scottie Scheffler - currently +6600 - not great today. Shoots 75 to end at -1. Made the cut so there's still a chance.
Jon Rahm - +200 - 3 shots back with 9 holes to play in Round 2. Looking really solid and may be a battle between Brooks and him.
Cameron Young - +2000 - 7 shots back with 9 holes to play.
