Tournament Preview - John Deere Classic

Hello members,

This week, we move to the Illinois / Iowa border for the John Deere Classic. This tournament is typically a great event for younger / newer Tour players to get their first win, like Jordan Spieth in 2013. The full purse is $7.4m and the winner’s share is $1.332m. The field is a bit light, mainly due to being a few weeks before The Open.

J.T. Poston is back to defend his title. He shot 21-under last year to win by three strokes. Vegas has him at +5000.

Cameron Young is probably the biggest name in the field. He’s still searching for his first Tour win.

Can’t wait to see what newer Tour player gets their win this week! Let’s tee off!

LIV Golf moves to London this week.

U.S. Women’s Open is playing at Pebble Beach this week with a historically large purse of $11m and the winner taking home $2m. Rose Zhang is the favorite at 12/1 and when she’s so good she hits a tee shot and her tee ends up in her back pocket. Incredible.

Weather

Pretty pleasant weather in the midwest this week. Some potential rain later on. Highs in the low 80s and lows in the low 60s / upper 50s.

• Adam Schenk - +2500 - my boy has been close multiple times this year. Seems like a good time as ever to get that first PGA Tour win.

• Eric Cole - +3000 - very solid player that has been towards the top a few times. Coming off a very good deed after winning a mini tour event in Pittsburgh.

• TPC Deere Run is the club this week. It’s public so we all could play!

• This event is known to be a birdie-fest with wider fairways and having shorter irons into the greens.

• Golf rates range from $112 to $250 per round.
