Thursday Night Recap - Genesis Invitational
LA kid, Max Homa, is tied for the lead after a 7-under 64. His pre-tournament odds were +1600 and has moved to +450. Keith Mitchell also shot 64 to be tied with Homa. Keith has been playing really well the last few weeks. Jon Rahm played well, surprise surprise, and sits in solo 3rd after a 65. Tiger started with a birdie and ended his day with three straight birdies to shoot 69 and be T27 and beat this list of golfers. Tiger's drives have been above Tour average in ball speed... dude still has it. Rory was mad that Tiger outdrove him today, but he beat him with a 67. Tiger, Rory, and JT have a quick turnaround tomorrow with the one of the first 10 tee times.
Rounds were pretty slow today with most groups finishing in 5 hours. That means 9 golfers have to finish up their first round tomorrow morning before the second round can start. The 9 remaining players will resume their first round at 7:45am PST with the second round starting immediately after. Hopefully, we can finish round 2 and have a clean weekend.
Here we go.

What an absolute show Tiger Woods put on today. Now comes the hard partβa 14-hour turnaround before tomorrow's morning tee time. It'll be chilly at Riviera. But it's inarguable that he surpassed all expectations today. 69. Nice.

Birdie at the last for a round in the 60s in his first event in seven months at one of the trickiest courses on Tour. All on basically one leg. Remarkable.
