Tournament Roundup - BMW Championship

Hello members,

What a great finish today! Viktor Hovland fires a new course record 61 to come from behind and take home the title! He finished birdie-birdie to shoot 28 on his final 9. Talk about on fire; he couldn’t miss and it helps he it is close on pretty much every hole. Viktor takes home the $3.6m payday and now is 2nd in FedEx Cup points, which means he’ll start next week at 8-under and only two behind 1st in the points race, Scottie Scheffler.

Scottie Scheffler ended up T2 with Matt Fitzpatrick. After Viktor birdied 18, Scottie had a shot into the 17th green. He hit it on and proceeded to three-putt to fall two behind. He, and Fitzpatrick, had to hole out on 18 to get in a playoff. Both hit great shots to less than 10 feet, but that means neither made Eagle and Viktor took it home.

Now, the points standings really come into play. Below is the full list of the 30 players for next week with their starting position.

  • Scottie Scheffler - 10-under

  • Viktor Hovland - 8-under

  • Rory McIlroy - 7-under

  • Jon Rahm - 6-under

  • Lucas Glover - 5-under

  • Max Homa, Patrick Cantlay, Briand Harman, Wyndham Clark, Matt Fitzpatrick - 4-under

  • Tommy Fleetwood, Russell Henley, Keegan Bradley, Rickie Fowler, Xander Schauffele - 3-under

  • Tom Kim, Sungjae Im, Tony Finau, Corey Conners, Si Woo Kim - 2-under

  • Taylor Moore, Nick Taylor, Adam Schenk, Collin Morikawa, Jason Day - 1-under

  • Sam Burns, Emiliano Grillo, Tyrrell Hatton, Jordan Spieth, Sepp Straka - Even

Nick Dunlap is the new U.S. Amateur champion after beating Neal Shipley today at Cherry Hills.

The end of the season is upon us. Cheers everyone.

Final Leaderboard and Payouts

Picks Recaps

  • Rory McIlroy - +700 - 12-under and solo 4th, good but no cash.

  • Patrick Cantlay - +1100 - 6-under and T15. No three-peat.

  • Lucas Glover - +2500 - 4-under and T22. Picked him a week late.

  • Season Long Picks Update

    • After 32 tournaments picked in 2023, a $100 better for each of the weekly picks would be up $2,500. Good thing, even without a winner next week, we’ll be up at least $2,200 for the year.

Notes and News

  • Tyrrell Hatton was really excited (insert sarcasm) to make it next week (twitter)

  • Max Homa had some strong words for the idiot yelling during his putting stroke (article)
