Tournament Recap - Arnold Palmer Invitational

Kitayama fights off all the big names to get his first Tour win and $3.6m! Not bad

Tournament Recap - Arnold Palmer Invitational

A stacked leaderboard, Bay Hill living up to the 5th hardest course on Tour (after the 4 major venues), and Kurt Kitayama gets it done! His first win on Tour in 50 starts and nearly doubles up his career earnings with his $3.6m payday today! Sheesh. Kurt's final round included a triple on 9 then had eight pars and one birdie on the back to seal the deal. On 18, Kurt hit it on the green about 50 feet away and needed to two putt to win. Dude... took... his... time reading the putt and finally hits it. It rolls and rolls and ends up on the lip. Love that he then marked his ball to have the appropriate celebration he deserved. It was a great finish!

Rory, Scottie, Spieth, Hatton, Cantlay, and English all contended today but just missed putts when they needed to make 'em. As Rory described, bogeys, not birdies, were why the leaderboard changes were occurring. BUT, players and the Tour just don't get it... I definitely like when it's hard. Makes the play more relatable. The Players is next week. Get ready for more fireworks!
