PGA Tour rookie Davis Thompson fires a 62 at La Quinta Country Club to take a two shot lead after round 1. He had a fast start and shot a 28 on the front nine. His pre-tournament odds were +30000 and now he's at +1400. Pretty strong move. We'll see how he plays tomorrow. Jon Rahm shoots 8-under at La Quinta to be in a tie for 2nd. He's the favorite, odds wise, at this time at +250. Vegas definitely thinks Jon is going to get it done, and his first nine rounds of the season warrant it. Exciting day today!
