Tony Finau is back to defend his title. Will Justin Thomas get out of his funk? Someone else take it down? We shall see.

Tournament Preview - 3M Open

Hello members,

From Liverpool to Minneapolis, we move to the 3M Open this week. Tony Finau is back to defend his title, and is a One Putts pick this week to do so. Other big names in the field are Cameron Young and Justin Thomas.

Pretty cool story where Erik van Rooyen’s caddy Monday Qualified for the 3M! AND, he is playing with Erik in Rounds 1 and 2. Good on the tournament here for pairing them up.

Only two weeks left until the FedEx Playoffs start. No better time than now to go low. Let’s tee off!

Weather

Pretty steamy for Minnesota this time of year. Some storms could come through tomorrow and Friday with the weekend looking really nice.

Betting Odds

Some notable players to consider:

  • Tony Finau - +1600 - defending champ so has good vibes here.

  • Justin Thomas - +2500 - unpopular pick, I’m sure. JT has so much riding on these next two weeks with the Ryder Cup picks coming up.

  • Eric Cole - +4500 - he’s been near the top a bunch this year… should sneak one of these out sometime soon.

Course Information

  • TPC Twin Cities is a private club in a northern suburb of Minneapolis.

  • Arnold Palmer designed the course in 2000 with consultation from Tom Lehman.

  • Initiation fees range from $10k-30k and monthly dues between $300-600, so honestly, pretty reasonable compared to other private clubs played on Tour.

  • Featured holes are:

    • Par 5 6th that has a double dogleg.

    • Short Par 4 7th that is a classic risk / reward go-for-it Par 4

Notes and News
